Specs and Capacity of OCZ Vertex 3

OCZ has announced the new SSD's Colossus LT, Vertex 2 - 2-line and Agility. All three models feature a new controller and a SATA-300 port, during which they both read and writes almost managed to saturate.

What Makes OCZ Vertex 3 Different

The Collosus LT differs from many other SSD's by its form factor 3.5". The drive uses MLC chips, which are controlled by two controllers in a RAID0 setup, and has 128MB of cache memory. The SSD offering, presumably by internal RAID array, no trim support, but has built garbage collection. The maximum read and write speeds are both 260MB / s, and the number of IOPS for random 4K writes amounts to 15,000. The Colossus is Available in capacities of 120GB, 250GB, 500GB and 1TB.

OCZ Vertex 3 at the 2 - and 2-Agility disks chosen for new controllers. While the first models were based on Indilinx hardware, the latest editions use a SATA controller from the stable of SandForce. In collaboration with MLC chips would be used for both disks must guarantee up to 285MB / s and write speeds of 275MB / s. Like the Indilinx controller provides the model of SandForce support for the trim command. In the 4k random writes, it becomes clear why the two Vertex OCZ's flagship: 50,000 IOPS with five times faster than the Agility 2. Both drives have a 2.5" enclosure and are available in capacities of 50, 100 and 200GB.

OCZ expects the drives in the coming weeks to deliver, with the smallest of the Collosus between LE 350 and 400 euro must be cost. For the smallest Vertex 2 - Agility and two models should be between 175 and 200 Euros paid.
